David Mooney


David Mooney has worked in the lighting industry since 1983 as a consultant, electrical engineer and lighting designer. His first involvement with lighting controls was in 1984 with the Philips IFS system, and he was the lead lighting designer on the CAA’s Air Traffic Control Centre at Swanwick, working with Zumtobel on the UK’s first digital lighting control system.

David has been a strong advocate of lighting controls throughout his career at BDP, Arup, RMJM, BDSP PB and now Atkins.

      Suppliers, specifiers, standards bodies and building owners urgently need to address a culture of complacency in the sector that has developed over recent decades.
