Consultant and LIA Tutor
Bob started his career in lighting in the late 1980s with an LIA course. Since then, after gaining an MSc in Architecture Light and Lighting from UCL, he’s gained thirty years’ experience designing and delivering lighting schemes ranging from a local Church up to the scale of London’s Royal Albert Hall. Bob has worked both in independent lighting design practices and up to CEO level at a German manufacturer, thus he combines lighting, consultancy, technical, product development, project management and corporate skills. These skills, together with the teams around him helped deliver many major projects including: Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower; Atlantis the Palm Hotel in Dubai; Heathrow’s Terminals 2,4 & 5; and major stations including London Paddington, St Pancras and the new western concourse at London’s Kings Cross
A strong believer in both Environmental and Corporate Social responsibility, he is committed to reducing the environmental impact of his activities for the sake of generations to follow. He is a leading member of the UK lighting community and his work through the Society of Light & Lighting (he became a Vice President in 2016) and increasingly the Academy Team at the Lighting Industry Association allows him to further his mission to deliver good lighting to the widest possible user base.
