Hannah Brookshaw was born and raised in Hastings, only leaving briefly to gain her Sociology degree and to volunteer in Central America. She has always had a passion and love for the town she calls home. Hannah started her career at Hastings Council 15 years ago working in community development and anti-social behaviour in one of the more deprived parts of Hastings. Since then, she has had varied roles including neighbourhood management, coordinating a borough-wide youth employability programme, where she won PR Initiate of the Year at the Sussex Women in Business Awards. In the last 4 years Hannah has been involved with external funding, physical regeneration and tourism initiatives, and currently has responsibility for the marketing and tourism functions, tourist information centre and regeneration team.Alongside this, Hannah has been a school governor for 10 years, latterly as Chair for a local Primary school.
